Ommer joined Summerhill Venture Partners in 2006 and is responsible for managing the firm’s finance, information systems and administrative functions in addition to providing financial and legal support to the investment team.

Previously, Ommer was the Vice-President, Finance of AMG Canada (formerly known as First Asset Management Inc.), a holding company with equity interests in several leading Canadian asset management firms. Prior to First Asset, he held financial positions with MDC Partners Inc. (NASDAQ & TSX: MDZ.A), which held interests in marketing communications, secured transaction and Internet professional services businesses.

Ommer holds a Chartered Accountant designation and commenced his professional career at Coopers & Lybrand LLP. Ommer received his MBA from the Johnson School at Cornell University and a BA-Honors, Specialist in Management from the University of Toronto.
