Summerhill believes in a focused approach to investing.  We invest in specific domain areas within the wireless, digital media and information technology sectors where our nimble team can leverage  our deep domain expertise and experience to address today’s investment opportunities to assist our entrepreneurs with the technology and market challenges they will face in building profitable and scalable businesses.

Specific investment areas of interest include:

• Products and services for the digital home and digital consumer
• Enterprise Cloud based services
• Enterprise and carrier software and security applications
• Advanced Video and Social Media applications

Our investment professionals have an extensive and diverse mix of operational, technical and investment expertise, which enables us to develop a deep understanding of an opportunity before making an investment.  Once an investment is made, our team takes a “roll up your sleeves” approach and works closely with the company to turn innovative ideas and technologies into successful businesses. We add value to entrepreneurs by providing strategic guidance, and sharing operating experiences and industry specific knowledge.

Our Preferred Stage and Geography

We are primarily interested in earlier stage investment opportunities (Seed and Series A) located in the Northeastern United States, primarily New York, Boston and D.C., and Central and Eastern Canada.  Initial investments range from US$500,000 up to US$4 million.

We typically lead or co-lead all of our investments and take an active role in the early stages of developing our portfolio companies.
