Because Summerhill Venture Partners is small, agile and focused on sectors where it has operating and investing experience, we can respond in a timely manner with investment commitments. Summerhill Venture Partners typically leads/co-leads all of its investments and takes an active role in the early stages of developing its portfolio companies. We are primarily interested in earlier stage investments (seed and Series A) located in the North East regions of the United States and Canada, and Series B investments in Silicon Valley and the Western regions of Canada and the United States.

The due diligence analysis of investment opportunities includes discussions with industry participants and subject matter experts, third party research and market analysis, financial modeling, and reference interviews on the management team, customers, pipeline, stakeholders, suppliers, advisors and board members. Additionally, the investment team routinely seeks out business and technology experts within the BCE group of companies and our keiretsu to assist in due diligence efforts when considering an investment.

The due diligence process typically requires six to eight weeks. In competitive financing situations, we will allocate additional resources to complete the process more expeditiously.
